My parents have been married nearly 50 years and married in 1960.

They swear they have both been faithful, although both of them have had offers.

They’re not deformed! In fact, I think most people would describe them as attractive people.

nice work asking the computer internet generation. My answer I have found that it is dying out of style. People use to honor their vows now they all cheat cause it is everywhere. Look at women today and on line it is like fast food..cheap and quick. Men are just as bad they have the use of the internet. I just feel sorry for our generation. It will be a glorified Miracle to see couples actually married that long in todays times. So I give them props cause you may never see it again.

Well Eddie, I am hoping to make 50 have made 31 in Dec, We are not deformed but we are a little crazy, that should count.

Those are some sad stats. Besides that a lot of marriages are not all marriages and you must be looking into them because of some problem or other.
I would guess it isn’t just about being a student of human nature that makes you watch married people.. so yeah there are marriages like that, in your line of work you will just be seeing the worst of the lot.
I never met a person that hired a PI for no reason, or call the cops either. You are getting jaded, what a bummer.

My spouse and I have been married fifty two years, coming up on three. She’s cheated on me four times now, we’re in counseling now over “her” issues” with me. I would like to hold it together, I still do love her, very much.

We married in 1966. I have never cheated but my wife cheated in 1973. So I would agree with you. I won’t go into the story, but we are still together.

I know i think about that all the time.

People say “we’ve been happily married for … years” n i automatically think I wonder if either has cheated.

I don’t think the chances are as high as 100% and i’m not so sure the deformity matters?? heh. But I think it does happen without the other knowing after heaps of years together.

Sometimes one person can cheat and the couple can get over it and still be married happily after 50 odd years.

50/50. At least that’s what the averages say for marriage in general. For those who remain married for 50 or more years, I would guess that the rate of infidelity is lower. I won’t say it doesn’t happen, but most marriages don’t survive infidelity and wouldn’t make it to the 50 year mark. That said, my parents survived infidelity that happened early in their marriage and have been married 42 years.

People in the 1960s who married have not been married 50 years yet.

My grandparents married in 1955 and they are still married, and all they ever had is each other.
