What happens to your marriage live during the holidays?

Allison, the Nice Lady asked:
This year we travelled a lot, but practically never had time alone. We went almost a week without *** until hubby got me in a bathroom during some down time hehe.
Essentially during busy holidays like this we act more like a consortium and less like a marriage, unfortunately.
How about you?

Mother in-law comes over and spends 3 days or so with us. While having her down the hallway is a very good form of birth control, I just write it off as the price one has to pay for having people together during Christmas. Unlike many people I hear about here, I have a very healthy relationship with my mother in-law, so the ‘sacrifice’ of not getting any for a few days doesn’t bother me.
We planned a simple holiday so that we wouldn’t have that misfortune. My husband doesn’t get very much time off work and I wasn’t about to let one of the few vacations I had with him be ruined by busy agendas. So we didn’t travel, we didn’t visit family. Of course we called them and mailed everyone presents. But on our own time, after we had celebrated a nice quiet Christmas together, just us and our son.
it didn’t affect us too much. we only had to travel an hour, so it wasn’t too hectic. also, we don’t have kids yet….so that probably has a lot to do with it!
