Books/Web-sites on Multi-Cultural Wedding Rituals?

I’d like to find resources on different types of rituals that people have around the world to symbolize a couple coming together…. whether that be a wedding, pagan hand-fasting or the like. Photographs would be great to get a better idea on things like types of dress, etc. I love what little I know of Indian weddings with the days long celebration, wedding canopy, henna, etc.

I’d like to know more about different & interesting ways that people celebrate the world over. In part out of curiosity & in large part because I’d like to find inspiration for our own future celebration.

I’m not keen on the whole white wedding, Christian ideal that’s standard in the US. So, it would be neat to find other ideas to incorporate into our special celebration that aren’t cheesey themes like Elvis or doing it while parachuting.
