What should i expect in an Indian (muslim) wedding..inshAllah i will be going to my cousins wedding this summer
any ideas..i heard that it’s VERY boring compared to indian (muslim) weddings in America

I am from Pak and my think wedding tradition is almost same like Pak,but in Pak you enjoyed more rather than India because Pak is a Muslims country and Muslim is free of doing any thing in Pak,rather than Indian Muslim,they are bound may be because India is not a muslim country.
We Muslims Here(India and Pakistan) are following the Hindu Traditions in Weddings which are Not Islamic.
there is a Simple wedding ceremony according to Islam no Show off , Now wastage of Wealth, and no Useless Traditions.
Most of the other Muslim in R&S is busy with their du’a to support the 1.2 billion Muslim effort to release Muhammad from Jahannam HELL in their 5 times a day salat to the Moonrock Dzat Allah.
Currently they are saying outloud:
Allahumma rabba hazihi ad-da`wah at-tammah wa as-salati al-qa’imah, ati Muhammadan al-wasilah wa al-fadhilah wab`athhu maqaman mahmudan allzi wa`adtah (Sahih Bukhari)

Well, if both of you are Muslims, this means you have to obey İslamic weddind rules. It does not matter from which country or culture you are.
Just a reminder; having fun, dancing & serving food are the needs of an Islamic wedding (ofcourse under Islamic rules like no alcohol, etc). If you want to learn the truth men & women may listen to music & dance with each other but in seperate rooms. Ofcourse the most important is imam wedding. (niqah)
well i find the weddings very boring cause it seems like the functions wont ever end… the events are too long and there are too many traditions that people follow and most of them are quite lame… the girls find it fun though for some reason so maybe you will like the wedding.
im pakistani and our traditions are almost the same
its not boring its quite fun its colorful there are lots of people great food and just a blast i think its better than the ones ive seen in america
